Curriculum vitae

Zurab Zurabishvili  is a leading Georgian spinto-dramatic tenor with vast repertory in the most demanding and rare tenor roles.

Zurab Zurabishvili sings with huge success in many theaters and festivals all around Europe as the Opera Vlaanderen Antwerpen, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Theater Bonn, Theater Chemnitz, Royal Opera House Copenhagen, Theater Dortmund, Deutsche Oper am Rhein Düsseldorf, Aalto-Musiktheater Essen, Opera Graz, Staatsoper Hannover, Tiroler Landestheater Innsbruck, Badisches Staatstheater Karlsruhe, Opera Krakow, National Theater Mannheim, Staatstheater am Gärtnerplatz München, National Theater Taipei, Tbilisi Opera, Israeli Opera Tel Aviv, Teatro Regio Turin, Deutschen Nationaltheater Weimar, Staatstheater Wiesbaden, National Theater Zagreb, Opernhaus Zürich, Greek National Opera Athen.

In seasons 2010-2013 he was engaged at Aalto Musiktheater Essen. In 2006/07 he was a member of Staatstheater Darmstadt and from 2003-2006 a soloist of the State Theater Augsburg. 

Education and awards

Mr.Zurabishvili started studing Opera singing at the Tbilisi Conservatory with Prof. Ana Chikhradze.

In 1994 he transfered to the Mozarteum Salzburg to continue his studies with Prof. Martha Sharp.

In 2002he obtained a diploma in Master Of Arts with excellence.

He attended master classes with Bernd Weikl and Sherrill Milnes in Salzburg, Laurenne Nubar in Nizza, Paata Burchuladze in Salzburg and private study with Riccardo Lombardi.

Private study with Hanna Ludwig, professor emeritus at the University Mozarteum Salzburg.

Zurab Zurabishvili is a two-time winner of the 11. „Ferruccio Tagliavini“ International Voice Competition (2005) and 2003 Winner of the Austrian Prize Honor.
