The Georgian soprano graduated successfully from the Academy of Placido Domingo at Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia, where she had the chance to work on vocal technique with  Montserrat Caballé, Ruggero Raimondi, Plácido Domingo, Vladislav Piavko, Sergei Kaznacheev and others.

Ilona was a guest artist for four seasons at the Palau de les Arts in Valencia, where she debuted several principal roles. Further performances followed in Teatro Rossini in Pesaro, Teatro Goldoni in Livorno, Teatro del Giglio in Lucca and Teatro Verdi in Pisa, Opera House Tel-Aviv and Haifa Auditorium in Israel, Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia and Teatro Principal de Castellon, Teatre de Sabadell and Palau de la Musica in Spain, receiving positive critics for her interpretations of Mimi from La Bohéme, Desdemona from Otello, Gilda from Rigoletto, Amelia from Simon Boccanegra, Micaela from Carmen, Adina from L'elisir d'amore etc.

In 2019 Ilona debuted as Madama Butterfly (Puccini) at Teatro Gaztambide de Tudela. She was also engaged to sing Liu (Turandot) at The south bohemian Theater Kosice and Medora (Corsaro) at The Polish National Opera in Warcaw.

Ilona has collaborated with renowned directors such as Z. Mehta, L. Maazel, J. Levi, A. Zedda, JM Pérez-Sierra, J. Bernácer, C. Amat, OM Wellber, P. Fourniller, P. Weigol, M. Balderi, A. Battistoni, C. Goldstein, JL Martínez, F. Biondi, etc.
