galina benevich

coloratura soprano

The young soprano Galina Benevich was born in Russia in 1991. After completing her studies in the Maimonides State Classical Academy in Moscaw with distinction, she become a member of the “Meitar” Opera Studio of New Israeli Opera (Young Artists Program), Tel-Aviv 2015-2017, where she performed the Queen of the Night and Papagena in "Die Zauberflote" (Mozart), the Sand and the Dew fairies in Hansel und Gretel (Humperdinck), Clorinda in La Cenerentola (Rossini), Suor Genovieffa and Suor Osmina in Suor Angelica (Puccini).

 

At the moment she is a soloist of the State Opera in Wrozlaw, Poland. Her current engagements include  Donna Anna “Don Giovanni”, Marie “La fille du regiment”, Violetta “La Traviata”.

 

She has already performed the roles of Amina in La sonnambula (Bellini), Olympia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann (Offenbach), Gilda in Rigoletto (Verdi), the Fairy Godmother in Cendrillon (Massenet), the title role in The Snow Maiden (Rimsky-Korsakov) and other.

 

Mrs.Benevich has obtained the following awards:

2nd Prize and Special Prize in the International Georg Ots Music Festival and Competition,Saint Petersburg, July 2018

2nd Prize and Special Prize for classical song in the XV International Competition MarioLanza in Italy, August 2017

1st Prize in the Competition of Jerusalem International Opera Master-class (JIOM), July

2017 Bursary recipient of America-Israel Cultural Foundation (AICF), 2016
